Take some notifications out of the cloud
In light of last weekend's server outage, could you consider moving some of the simpler notifications like HTTP GET out of the cloud and on to the twine? I can understand not setting up an email/SMS gateway locally on the twine but it seems like it would be easy to have it call an URL. Another benefit of this is that it might shave a second or two off the notification time.
